Meeting 7:
After deciding on a date that would be perfect where all of us would be free including the cast members we finally decided today we were all free to film. Wednesday 19th of March. At 2:00PM we got our equipment and made our way to the park that was in Clapton Pond. This was not the desired location that we had in our storyboard or shot list or call sheet. However, it was an easy place for all of us to go to because it was nearby and we only had an hour to film the break-up scene and also because it had a pond and a fountain and also a little bridge which made the whole entire park look much more romantic on a sunny day for a couple to meet up. We chose this location also because the audience can think that this is a romantic place for the couple to meet up, however, things do go wrong because the couple break up which makes the whole scenery look as if it has gone to waste for the couple to meet up there but that is the thought the audience should think about when they first see the location. It was a normal day with not too much sun in the sky which was good because not a happy thing was about to happen. If it was more gloomier then it would have been perfect to reflect the mood of the characters but seeing as it was the last day for us to film because we were on a tight deadline, we had no choice. The characters came wearing the same outfits as they had on in the other scenes and everything went well in the beginning. We did not have a problem setting up the camera or the tripod because we had done it many times before we had gotten used to knowing how to set it up so no time was wasted. It only took us 25 minutes to film the break-up scene, it would have been much quicker if the characters were not breaking into giggles every minute. Since we changed the storyline and the script a little, we did not have the boyfriend saying to the female that he cheated on her, instead we had him breaking up with her using other forms of break-up lines. Such as, "I've got feelings for my ex.." etc. Seeing as we had not pre-planned the script beforehand we had to make it all up on the spot as we were filming, this way we could make it look like a natural break-up between a couple. We still got it filmed in the end (without any laughter) and because there were not much charge left in the camera and before it totally died, we did not get a shot of the female protagonist walking away, we only got one shot, to get another shot of her walking away would have been perfect, just in case the first one did not work out properly. However, we still got it all filmed and had plenty of time left in the end to put the footage up into the computer to edit and put together with the rest.

Meeting 6:
In today's meeting, we uploaded the footage onto the Mac and started editing. We used 'Premier Pro' to put all the footage together in the right order and used cross-cutting to show the girl and then the boy looking around and then walking. We then added music, effects and texts. At the end, it all amounted up to 3 minutes and our time-limit was 2minutes and 12 seconds. We decided on cutting the very beginning from our storyboard out as it did not look right because the girl came down the stairs and the boy didn't so the cross-cutting didn't match. So we cut and kept the bit from when the first shot is of the girls foot and the guys foot and so on. The music added was not the type of music that was mentioned in the storyboard however it was still up-beat and rhythmic so it worked well as it connoted the happiness the female was feeling to go see her boyfriend.
The ending also looked weird so "The Next Day" plan did not work out in this case so we decided to cut it out and put the bit of the boy and girl seeing each other on the street at the very end. The restaurant scene also did not work because it was too dark inside and not many variety of shots were used so we decided to cut that bit out too and re-do it but not have the restaurant scene in it at all. We did not expect to make these many changes and cut scenes out but we had no choice as it didn't look very nice. We decided to change the location but keep the same characters to film the break-up scene. We wanted a location that was easy to get to and not too far away from all of us so we wouldn't have to travel very far and one that was suitable to fit into the sequence; a park was ideal as it seemed like a realistic location for a couple to meet. We found one near-by that had a fountain and a little bridge crossing over the pond with trees and benches around. It seemed like a very idealistic location and it also looked romantic; a perfect location for a couple to meet up, so we decided we would go there to film. We also were deciding between having two break-ups; one for the male protagonist to break up with his girlfriend and one for the female protagonist to break up with her boyfriend but finding another female Asian character to film in our filming slot was hard to find and also we were not sure as to whether it would go over the time-limit again so we decided just to stick to one break-up so it would make sense that the female protagonist would end up being with the male protagonist in the end.
Meeting 5:
We went out to film again on Sunday the 9th of March in Victoria Park where there were fountains, children, people playing, flowers, grass, benches and it was a very sunny day. It was a perfect day to film the park scene. We decided not to film the old lady scene because it would take up too much time and it would long out the opening sequence so we cut that bit out. And because it would look weird if we carried on filming as if she stormed out of the restaurant and into the park because we filmed in the dark on Friday we had to change the storyline a little to make it seem like it was the very next day. The male and the female both wore different clothes than they were on the first scene. The female was wearing a white shirt to connote innocence and purity and the guy was also wearing an off-white/cream jumper to connote the same. They were both also light blue jeans which signify happiness and being in a good mood seeing as the sky that day were reflecting their jean colour. It could also connote sadness because she had broken up with her boyfriend and was now walking by herself so her outfit seemed very simple and plain and a little dull, reflecting her mood. The fact that it was very sunny went well because it was to show the girl finds happiness in the end because she smiles and she forgets all about her sadness.
We took images of the location on the camera and we set up the equipment much faster than we did the other times and we got filming straight away so it went well. The characters were a bit shy because Ramaine (one of the crew members) wanted the characters to kiss in the end. This was not in our storyboard, we changed a lot that were in out storyboard and had to cut some bits out to make it all fit in the given time-limit So after a couple of try's getting the words right and not laughing we got it filmed in the end. Most of the dialogue were not written in the storyboard either, I had to make it all up on the spot but in the end everything went well and we got it all filmed.
Meeting 4:
Seeing as we were filming from the start again on the Friday the 7th March, we wanted to find a quieter place so the noise would not disrupt the filming and the characters voices could be heard. We chose to go Victoria Park and found some houses in a quiet estate and asked permission to be filming in front of their door. The filming went well, we found one house for the male to come out and another house for the female to come out of. It was a bit noisy when we filmed for the female to come out of her house because that building was next to a busy road where there were lots of cars going past. One of the things that went wrong was it started to become slightly dark by the time we got round to film for the girl as we took most of the day's light up to film for the male character, it still worked though. We took time up to find a location to film in and also we took a little too much time setting up the equipment which wasted most of the day. Another thing that went wrong was that when the female and the male character were speaking, his voice was a bit too quiet so you could not hear it properly, also the location we were filming for the girl, there were many cars going by at the time she was speaking so it was quite hard to hear her despite the mic. We thought by using the mic we would be able to hear the characters voices despite the background noise but when we saw back the footage that wasn't the case. There were also quite a few cars in front of the house that we were filming for the girl but we could not do anything about it, it also went well because the location looked more realistic. By the time we got round to filming the girl and the boy walking past each other it started to get more darker as we were wasting time because the characters could not get their parts right properly due to laughter, etc. We started off filming well but by the time it got round to the restaurant scene, it was too dark and that is not the time of the day we wanted to film the restaurant scene. But we did it anyway because we wanted to get everything done that day. We had to go round asking for permission about 3 restaurant if we could film in there but they had said no because they were too busy. We even found one restaurant which had very good lighting inside and candles and wine glasses which gave it a romantic feel. We could not go there because someone else had booked it for an event. In the end, we found a small restaurant which was perfect because it was dark inside with a rose on the table, candles and wine glasses on a table for two, it looked very romantic. We however did not have that long to film because the manager said they had lots of customers coming in, due to this we rushed very quickly resulting in us not getting a variety of shots which we were very disappointed in. Ramaine only filmed from one side getting the characters speaking to each other but no close-ups or over-the-shoulder shots which were very important for this scene to show the facial expressions between the two characters. We also had to change the storyline a little as we did not use roses which we were supposed to. Mainly because everyone forgot to get the roses and also because we had to hurry and were on a time-limit for our opening sequence so we could not use up too much time. There was a rose on the table so it did not matter that we did not buy roses. Also, it would not make sense for her boyfriend to be giving her roses because he was confessing he found someone else and she storms out angry.
We could not do the old lady in the park scene and when the girl meets the first guy again because by then it was too dark to go to a park and it was not on our storyboard to be filming in the dark because it would not make sense or look romantic. Everyone had to go home at that time too so we decided to come out the very next day only the female and the first guy so we can shoot them two meeting and speaking scene.
Casting Details
This is our casting details of who is going to be acting which part, their names and a picture that I took of them to show how they look like and in what way they would be perfect to play the part in our opening sequence.

Meeting 3:
Me and my group (Ramaine and Elissa) have decided in today's meeting that we will not be going to the location we went to film the first time round as it is too noisy and that was not our original location that we chose. I have found a quieter location which is much better which is in Victoria Park and most of the opening sequence will be filmed there as it is more convenient for all of us. It is closer for us to access and we do not need to travel from one place for the house that is shot and for the riverside/park later. We will just be going to another location for the restaurant.
Also, we were unsure of which day to film as some of the crew member either could not make it or some of the cast members had other plans. We are still unsure of which day to film as we have shifted the date to film from one day to another. We decided to start filming on Friday the 7th of March in our media lesson time then carrying on after college. If everything does not get filmed in that time then we will have to come out in the weekends.

Meeting 2:
These are the shot of the house we were filming in front of.
We met up on Saturday March the 1st and done half of our opening sequence, just the opening scene. One of the things that went wrong was there were only 2 crew members there because the third person could not be available. And one of the characters was not available that day to be filming with us but that is okay because he is not in the first scene so we could do without him. One of the things that went wrong at last minute was that we changed the location as one of the crew members walked all the way as they did not have their oyster with them. So this meant that we could not go to our desired location with a form of transport. So we walked for a couple of minutes till we saw houses that would go well with our opening sequence. We found a couple of houses, chose one and filmed.
Having one of the crew member away meant that we would struggle a little when it came to filming, directing and holding the microphone when needed. However, we managed because Ramaine did the filming because he knew how to and it was his role, I helped him set up everything. Also, I held the mic when one of the characters were talking so we managed in the end. We filmed the first scene of the opening sequence in time which was really good but one of the two problems we faced was that we did not know how to set up the "tracking/dolly" so we wasted a little time trying to figure out and in the end we were not sure if it was right but we managed to film without it so everything went well. Another problem we faced was the camera was moving a little shaky due to the tracking/dolly was not stable properly and the location we decided to film at was very noisy with cars constantly passing by. However, in the end, it all worked out as the mic helped the characters voice come through more clearly than the background noise.
Another problem we faced was when we got back to college to return the equipment, Marvin accidentally erased all the footage we had filmed thinking that we had already had the footage inserted into the computer. So everything we had filmed was now gone. So we decided to meet up again to film either on Wednesday this week or on the weekend, either on a Saturday or Sunday. Everyone, including the crew and the cast are free hopefully so we will begin shooting again. We decided to come out earlier than the time we came out last time so we will have enough time to film from the begging to the end. If we do not get to finish the ending then we will come out another day to film.
